My washing machine has a "hygeine plus" cycle that holds the temperature at 60 degrees for 3 hours. This was ideal for the dye. I put the liquid and some salt in the drum, a water softening tablet in the detergent tray, as I have very hard water, and the fixative in the fabric softener tray.
I used the dye to restore the colour to some faded shirts, and also to dye a towel that had faded very badly to a checkerwork of pink, white and blue. The result was a rich, even colour. In the photograph of the three polo shirts, the one on the left was the one coloured with this dye. Originally it was a faded raspberry colour. The other shirts were dyed with different Aybel dyes.
